Official Announcement (e-Tools and PCGen)

Excellent, excellent news. This is much more than I was hoping for. The news of an eTools patch and actual future upgrades and support is absolutely thrilling.

This is all very good news indeed! I wonder if they have any concrete idea what their "continuing support" for e-Tools will entail? That is, I wonder if they're hoping to add the various functions to e-Tools that were announced at the beginning of the project? Just wondering.

Good news, but how is this going to affect support for PCGen? Are there sufficient coders available to work on both programs simultaneously?

I assume they have (or will have) a tool to transform PCGen data files into e-Tools data files (and back, perhaps). If so, expect to see all those gazillion data files they have for PCGen to become available for e-Tools as well.

sweet!

Even better than I would of thought!!

I really liked using PCGen before Etools came out, because of all the hard work done by the List Monkeys getting the Splat books in PCGen format.

This definately sounds like a Win-Win for all Etools and PCGen users!

Congrats CodeMonkey Members.....this is fantastic news!!!

Con-freaking-gratulations monkeys!!!!

I am glad to see it. I will contact the SSS boys and get discussions going about adding SSS content to the project.

email me privately.

Well done.

Well, I had heard that this was coming, but couldn't say anything until now. Congratulations! I'm very happy for you and thrilled that E-tools will finally get the support it needs.

So with that, a couple requests. Since E-tools will presumably finally be able to create a character correctly, it would be awesome if you included some sort of switch so that after you add the splat book material to the program, you have the option to keep it separate so that E-tools can be used as a D20 development tool (finally).

For PCGen - make a standard stat block export that works. And more skins. More skins for E-tools too.

Congrats again!

Thank you Clark, we're pretty happy ourselves over how things finally ended up.

Uhrm.. that won't be too hard, since we're already talking to Andrew Bates about the Scarred Lands stuff (and R&R is nearing the end of it's QA). :p

But I will contact you about other things in the next couple of days here. :)
