Official Maztica fansite?

I'm trying to put together a Spelljammer game and part of what I'm trying to accomplish is to make it as cosmopolitan as possible, to reflect the diversity of space travelers.

Now, I've got more than enough of Rokugan and Kara-Tur to work from. I've got Nyambe. But I'm having incredible difficulties tracking down any material on Maztica aside from what I could download from the Wizards site.

Are there any fansites for Maztica that have 3e conversions? Official or unofficial? Does the setting have any fans? I can't find anything in online searches.

Also, if anyone has other resources they'd recommend for other non-European D&D milieu, I would appreciate hearing about them. Spelljammer always had the most potential of all the D&D settings... and I'd like to be able to put together something that can take advantage of it.

I know nothing of a site like that, but Dragon 315, maybe Dragon 317 - and possibly even some others - contain info for Maztica, 3e-style. Not a ton, unfortunately, as far as I'm aware. But it's a start.

Hrm. That's all I can think of atm.

edit --- teh arpatubes returned this: http://sg.geocities.com/swiftblades_99/ (\ campaign settings \ 4)

It was #315. There was an article about the Eagle Knight and Jaguar Knight prestige classes.

There are no Maztica fan sites that I'm aware of. An online search produced a NWN forum for Maztica, but it's in Spanish.

Beyond the Moons has some information on Maztica in this article, so that may help.

Beyond that, I'm not sure what to tell you. I'd just find the 3e equivalents to the Maztica rules elements, give the proper flavor, and run with the materials you have on hand.

EDIT: Almost forgot a resource that might be what you're looking for. Check out Aztecs: Empire Of The Dying Sun. You can get it via PDF there for just $3, and there's a print version too. Lots of Aztec-themed materials, including their take on the Eagle Warrior and Jaguar Warrior prestige classes.

You can also look in Complete Divine for the Rainbow Servant prestige class, which is related to couatls. That may work out nicely with the deity Qotal.

Hope that helps.

I think I have that one. Have to break the longboxes out of my closet. I was looking through Maztica a bit earlier... how close would you say that a Gestalt Paladin/Ranger is to these classes, or would at least serve as a good build up toward them? (Assume "Paladin" includes alignment variants.)

A little. Thank you! Also gave me a little more info on the Shou in Spelljammer. One of these days I'm going to have to go through and read all of the specific world stuff on Beyond the Moons very thoroughly. Wonderful site.

Yeah. I think most of what I'm looking for at this point is going to be PrCs and feats. My base class set is pretty much thorough and complete, though I kinda like the number 28 and I'm seriously considering putting Favored Soul on the chopping block. (Not enough niche distance from Cleric, and I've got a good roster of Divine classes.) Much as I like the Void Shifter, it looks like a Druid/Warlock to me.

Oh, awesome. Will have to see what I can do about that.

Thanks!

That might work, yes. IIRC, the Dragon article mentions how Rangers make good eagle knights and barbarians are good for Jaguar Knights.

On the prestige classes, watch how the spells work. It's a bit different from other 3.5 sources, namely not a +1 caster level at each level.

Indeed. I wrote a Krynnspace guide for the site, which expands on SJR7 Krynnspace. So check that out.

Best of luck with this.

You may also want to check Candlekeep, the big FR fansite. There's probably some info on Maztica there, and I know there have been discussions on the forum.

I don't have any 3e conversions, but I do have some old logs from the Maztica folder when TSR was on AOL. I think the topic was brainstorming "more" of maztica.

Shoot me an email if you're interested. nellisir at gmail.com

Have you heard of the Creature Catalogue project? They are hosted by ENWorld and have this:
Pocket reference: Creatures from the Maztica setting

The Piazza has a Maztica forum
, but it doesn't really have much in the way of 3e content...at the moment.

Also, if anyone has other resources they'd recommend for other non-European D&D milieu, I would appreciate hearing about them. Spelljammer always had the most potential of all the D&D settings... and I'd like to be able to put together something that can take advantage of it.

If you surf over to The Piazza, you can read this thread about using other settings with the Spelljammer setting:
Scavenging worlds for SJ

There are now more SJ fans over at The Piazza than at the WotC forums.
