Oh my, we are going to rock

We just started a new campaign last Thursday, and I have to say this is has the potential to be the most exciting party that I've been a part of. Let me give you a quick roster.

Strom - a human cleric of the god of Air and Destruction
Drake - a human barbarian with a Strength of 20 and a huge Falchion
Bane - an orc barbarian with a strength of 22 and a greatsword
Vokos Faust - a human conjurer (CN alignment, Evocation barred)
Heinrich Faust (me) - a human conjurer (LN alignment, Evocation barred)

That right, we have a cleric, two barbarians, and two conjurers. In the first battle with about 5 sahaugin, we didn't suffer a single scratch. Watching those two barbarians go to town is something to behold. Vokos and Heinrich provide some flanking support and additional targets, or neutralize deadly threats, and Strom fills in with healing, boosting, and pretty decent fighting, too.

But let's face it, when your two fighters are doing 2d4+10 and 2d6+12 damage at first level, life is good for everybody. :D

Um, unless my math is wrong, they should be doing 2d4+7 and 2d6+9. With two-handed weapons you get 1.5x your Str bonus (rounded down), not 2x. Still impressive, just not crazy anymore.

Have to say I am impressed with that. :) Certainly wouldn't mind adding my paladin to the mix! Is this a generic/homebrewed campaign world or has it basis in a pre-made/established setting/campaign world?

Now add a monk to the Fray, he uses Spring attack to flank many an opponent! But how do you weild a HUGE Falchion? did you make it smaller? and how do you get 20(for human) and 22 for orc?

Unless they're raging...

Yes, a monk would go nicely, but if we start adding too much, it sort of ruins the compact efficiency we seem to have right now. :)

The falchion was mis-stated. It is actually Large, but it sure is huge!

As for the strength scores, an orc gets +4, and I think the human might actually be a half-orc, as there's definitely something wierd about him.

Heehee. I think it was just starting to dawn on him after the first battle. He just sat there with his head in his hands for a few moments.

I'm sure he'll find ways to cut us down, though. He's a right bastard.

My only concern is that your paladin would have some, er, personality conflicts. After all, we have two chaotic barbarians, a demon summoning, power hungry wizard, and a devil summoning, power hungry wizard.

The campaign is a home-brew world centered on the city of Freeport. Lots of sea travel and Cthulhu-esque nastiness about.

Actually, I could see a Bard doing very well here. The party needs someone to handle the 'interaction' aspect of going to town, and imagine giving those Barbarian, Cleric, and summoned monsters a +1 attack, +1 damage, +2 to charm saves. The bard will be adding a heck of alot of damage per round considering he can fight too, everyone is gonna hit more often, crit more often and better. And thats just using Inspire Courage, wait till he gets Inspire Greatness.

Using Inspire Courage, if everyone hits, thats +5 damage. If ONE barbarian hits instead of misses thats another 2d6+11 damage. If one barbarian crits thats another +2 damage. And the bard swinging a rapier for another +1d6+1. For 6 rounds. Who says Bards dont lay out the smack?
