XRP is on board! We're swamped with work, so I'm not sure we can run anything, but I'm up for playing and my boardgame collection is quickly outgrowing its designated bookshelf space....

And we'll probably grab a hotel room for at least 1 night.

Wow, you are moving fast! I shouldn't have any reason not to go, but I do need to clear my calendar at home to make sure. I'll check back in a day or two once I've had time to run the idea past my wife. My own car proved during GenCon that it's not really very suitable for anything other than driving around town, but I can either 1) take my wife's car, assuming she doesn't need it that day, or 2) see if I can convince someone like Quickbeam to come too, and we could car pool.

That's my biggest constraint at the moment.

Hey, that would certainly be my preference. He's cool. He's also in my own gaming group, and I saw more of him at GenCon than I have all summer because everyone's schedule has been so whack.

Well, I won't be there since I live in Washington :) However, my dad lives near Dayton and may be interested.

He doesn't play RPGs, but is very into the Euro-boardgame scene (Settlers, Carcosonne, Knizia games, etc). Will there be stuff like that there or will it be predominantly RPGs? Just wondering whether or not to recommend the event to him. :) Thanks!

RPGs prominently. Board games get brought for pick up games and spillover, but not the focus.

While GameDay is traditionally RPG centric, we usually have a broad selection of card and board games. If you're dad's interested in Catan-ing it up in an organized way, tell him to drop by and sign up as a "GM" for one of the available slots!
