Ok bibliophiles: Dumas

Don't stop there, either. Read everything by Brust you can get your hands on.

Well, yeah :)

Although I have to admit - Viscount of Adrilankha just didn't grab me, and I haven't gotten around to Lord of Castle Black yet as a consequence.

But apart from that, Brust has been on my buy-on-sight list for about fifteen years, I think :)

One Musketeer book which hasn't been mentioned on the thread - The Son of Porthos. I haven't read it myself, so I can't vouch for the quality or lack thereof.

I would suggest starting with The Three Musketeers (and maybe following books) and The Count of Monte Cristo. If you really like the books, then definitely I would recommend Brust's books as well as The Club Dumas. But I do think they may be appreciated more by people who are fans of the books.

Brust's homage to (or pastiche of:)) Dumas is concluded with The Viscount of Adrilankha which is split into three books. :D The Paths of the Dead, Lord of Castle Black, and Sethra Lavode.

On this point:

Ok I devoured the Three Musketeers. I went back to the library and got Twenty Years later. Then I picked up three more books. Here is where the confussion lies:
I have The man in the Iron Mask (last I know)
The I have the Vicomte de Bragelonne subtitled The Son of Athos; or Ten Years later
and a third book titled Ten Years Later.

Now the last two books do not start in the same way. It seems that the VdB I have is the Louise de la Vallier that Rhialto pointed out. But the Ten Years later confused me. So I will start on Twenty Years After, and I hope that you all can sort out what I need to read next! They did have a complete Vicomte de Bragelonne but as I do not read French, I didn't check it out ;)

Well, it's not a complete book; Paths of the Dead isn't the first book of a trilogy, it's the first third of a novel in three parts. Lord of Castle Black is the middle, and Sethra Lavode is the conclusion.
