Ok. Now I 'get' the epic tier

By the time you hit a level 20 suit of armour your belly is protected by an invisible force field or whatever a +5 bonus actually is. What the armour actually looks like doesn't matter.

Sadly, I found I was willing to accept the Halter Top armor, but the high heels pushed me over the limit.

I must be immune to this stuff because the music just made the images seem even more banal and retarded than usual, though with the Dr Who "Sound of Drums" episode, it did manage to make it LESS epic, which is quite an achievement.

Yek, I need more metal in my diet. the Bishonen-ness and the prancy around bouncing off the walls like hyperkinetic pinballs with perfect hair makes me want to vomit. It's just a bunch of "katana-porn."

Robert's First Law of Functional Aesthetic: The effort you spend looking awesome and kicking ass ensures that the person who spent all of their effort on learning how to kick ass will kick your ass. You can be consoled by knowing that you will die looking awesome.

LoL!

I dunno, I picture fights at the epic levels at least getting pretty awesome looking. That's one of the cool things IMO about 4th ed. I don't like the crazy wiuxa moves at low levels but once a PC hits level 21+ they can afford to look cool while they fight. Besides if you were going to evolve a fighting style that worked against big freaking monsters like dragons and whatnot it makes sense that you'd be 'jumping around like a pinball' as much as possible just to get the things bloody head in range.
