Okay, here goes ... can I get the stats for a "carp"?

Seems like you're mixing up Speed and Dexterity. Porpoises have high speed, but they can also do stunts like do double backflips, balancing a ball on their nose, etc. High dexterity. Likewise, octopi and squids can sneak through surprisingly small openings and do amazing things with those flexible arms like unscrewing jars, prying open clams, etc.

Carp... well, they are kinda fast, so they get a nice Swim speed. I'm not convinced they should have the same speed as a full-grown shark, or as a squid with it's jet propulsion. But they're definitely not as dexterous as a porpoise, octopus or squid. As dexterous as a shark? I'll buy that...

Looking at the other Tiny animals... the standard Dex score seems to be a 15. That includes even some species we might intuitively consider quite dexterous, such as a monkey or cat. The exception (Dex 17) are the Owl and Hawk (birds often seem to get a slightly higher Dex score), and the Tiny Viper. If we were coming up with stats for an eel or water snake I would have no problem assigning a Dex 17. But for a carp I see no reason to go above a 15 (already quite respectable!)

As for Charisma... Yeah, Int 1 does seem to be associated with Cha 2. Of course, that could just mean it deserves a higher Int, but I'll give you that one ;) Just chalk it up to them being cold-blooded, I guess...

Fair enough. Dexterity 15 it is then. My estimation originally came from the fact that a creature advanced from Tiny to Small and then from Small to Medium (the size of a porpoise) loses 4 points of Dexterity. So I didn't think the archetypal "fish" would have any less Dexterity than a dolphin. Of course, that argument falls apart when you look at the Diminutive toad (Dexterity 12). Smaller creatures aren't necessarily Dexterous because their smaller.

Awakened animals change type to Magical Beast (Augmented Animal), which means it gains the traits (but not the features, such as HD size, BAB etc.) of the Magical Beast type, one of which is Darkvision 60 ft.
