We are stationed at Spangdahlem, and live in Bitburg. Small world isn't it? I hope the gameday goes well. It sounds like it will be a fun event. Like I said if it goes well and gets done again I am definitely in!

wichita falls texas. I was there last week house hunting and visited the local game store. It was nice to be in a game store (I live in germany and game stores are hard to find) but unfortunately the store itself is not going to meet my needs entirely. Are there any decent stores in the area?

The husband and I (and kids) are moving to Wichita Falls this summer. We live about 40 miles from there currently, in a very small town. The city basically has two game stores: Galaxy Comics, which is on Kemp, and Pegasus Loft, next to the base. Neither have a great RPG selection, though Pegasus Loft has slightly more breadth (sacrificing a depth in some cases). Larry, the owner of Galaxy Comics, is a great guy, however, and more than willing to order anything you want. He also carries more anime and general games than PL does. Most of the time, his turnaround on getting items in is less than a week, typically sooner than Amazon or most online dealers. There's an active Warhammer 40K group (most of which have fantasy armies, but don't pull them out unless someone else declares they want to play fantasy ahead of time). There's also a Confrontation group starting up, if you like minis games. There isn't a lot of roleplaying in the store itself, but there are groups around who play, evidently.

Galaxy Comics also stays open late on Friday and Saturday nights, until about midnight. You can come in and play or paint or buy stuff or whatever.

Maybe sometime this summer/fall we'll have to get together and game. :)

Hmm...If im available, ill see if i can make it. not sure though. I start a new job on monday, not sure what times they will work me

Maybe everyone should use this as a prep thread, to generate ideas. Let it run for a little while, then do an official thread listing games, times, locations, and restaurants.

Good luck, Oklahoma City EN Worlders!

My only problem is that my son's 5th birthday is on the 16th. We're thinking of just making it a weekend in the city and heading for the zoo or something too, but it means the husband and I will have two small kids in tow for the weekend. That pretty much rules out running anything, and it may mean that we have to have just one of us go, or only for half the day, or something. They're good boys, but I'm not so cruel as to sentence them to a day of standing around a bunch of adults, being told to be quiet all the time, and not being allowed to touch anything.

Even with the Mickey D's with the Playplace across the street, somebody has to be with them all the time, and whoever is with them isn't playing. It's the conundrum of my life... *sigh*

My wife is a non D&D player (she will play some WW though), anyhow she takes the kids when I run or play (since I have 4 kids its a huge benefit) so thats the nice part of having a non-gaming wife. When we were both playing we had the same problem with the kids. You feel bas telling them they need to be quiet but at the same time gaming is mom and dads decompression time too...tough situtation.
