Old D&D box sets: Is there a screen?

Title pretty much says it all. I own all four "Basic D&D" boxes (Red through Black), but I thought there was a screen at one point too. Anyone know? Also, if there is, is there a picture so I can know what to look for? Thanks.

I don't recall having a screen, but you are missing the "gold" set, IMMORTALS RULES.

That's something I'd like to see in 3E, using those concepts with new mechanics...

They did not come with screens, but there was a screen & min-mod released in about 1983 (still have mine, in NM condition) fot the Basic & expert sets. It was right when TSR went to the angled "TSR" logo..about the time DragonLance got it's start, and the module covers changed.

Some the later Intro to AD&D & First Quest boxed sets (which actually preceded the Intro to AD&D box, but I digress) of the mid-90's had screens included.

Check out www.acaeum.com for the old screen.

There was not a screen in the box sets, but there was a screen released in conjunction with the masters set. I have this one. If I remember correctly, it came with a short adventure (I think it had 'spire' or something in the title). The product was called Master Screen.

There was indeed a screen though it was sold separately and did not come with any of the boxed sets, it was a 3 panel affair, that was a swampy brown-green type colouring depciting 3 monsters on the central panel.

There was a screen sold separately. It didn't come in the box, ever, AFAIK

An example:

Combat Shield (basic D&D)

COOL!

I knew it wasn't part of the box sets, but I just wondered if it existed.

Out of curiousity, for those of you who read "Fuzzy Knights" on Kenzer's site, what screen is it that Mossfoot's using??
