On warning points...

I've been told that I have quite the collection of warnings. But, like a few here I too can't find those warnings on my profile. Where exactly are they posted (that I may see them)?
I think they're usually under your account. I had 1, and it was a source of shame and embarrassment. I never want to get another.

Nothing.

I suppose the reports of my demise were greatly exaggerated :sneaky:

And rightly so. Forum banning is institutionalized censorship.

With the recent forum upgrade, several permissions-based changes happened unintentionally, and this seems to be among them.

@Morrus we have another one!

We do not accept the highfalutin' status that implies. We are a small website owned by one guy with a couple volunteers. Nothing we do counts as "institutionalized".

Would making warnings visible to others be productive? Or would it just lead to more problems? Opinions?
IT would probably lead to trolling some posters with short fuses or aggressive posting styles to get them banned.

Or that was my thought, but it appears we can see them. Is this new? I never noticed it before.

Just on this. I noticed today if I click on someone's profile I can see warning counts *(e.g. 5/5 or 7/11) - is it intentional that we can see others warning counts?

Woah. Is this still the case?

@Morrus @Umbran @Dannyalcatraz

I saw that the ability to see your own warnings is back*, so that is fixed! I assume that what gban saw was likely just something that was temporary while you were updating / changing permissions. If it's still active and unintentional, might want to look into it. If it's active and intentional, that's an interesting decision, and I honestly don't have an opinion on it right now.

ETA- following up on this, and @UngainlyTitan - this is still the case. You can see other commenter's warning points. So if this is unintentional, might want to fix.

*I obviously have .... mixed feelings ... about the ability to see this because I have weird issues. Fear of valet parking. Inability to let subjective/objective distinctions go. Combination of a rule that I will not edit my posts here with the self flagellation that comes with reading my posts and seeing that my stream of writing always has typos that make me cringe. And, of course, irrational overreaction to seeing warnings on my profile.

sigh

I knew I should have been a better person. I knew I should have resisted the temptation to briefly mouse over profiles on the main page in case this was a glitch. But I thought, Hey, maybe this will make you feel better about your weirdsies.

Nope. The opposite. Most definitely the opposite. The lesson, as always, is your inner voice will tell you not to touch the stove. But what if .... it's not on? Right????

I never thought of it until you mentioned it but now that you did......
However, it brought up another thought... What are points?

Nevermind, I figured it out, but I also found out that I can click the warnings and look at the reasons, surely that cannot be right? @Morrus
