Once again standing up from prone

First Post
ok, so one of our players is prone(following?) so can he stand up (move action) and then move 30 feet in the sense of a double move as a full round action (standing up then moving 30 feet) can anyone support there answer with pg.#s and such so i can show my group.

Thanks a bunch :)

Sure he can. Each round you get a standard and a move-equivalent action. Standing up is a move-equivalent; so is moving. You can always substitute a move-equivalent for a standard (but not vice-versa). See pg. 138 of the PHB.

I don't think that's what he means. Looks like he could be referring to the withdraw full round action. i.e. Can you combine a move-equivalent and a move to make a withdraw to prevent AoO's. If that's what he means, then no, you can't do that.

Although if it's against one enemy, won't the standing up itself draw an AoO? So he could walk off without trouble :)

No. Standing up from prone is a move equivalent action not a move in itself. So both moving and getting up from prone each provokes an AoO.

True, but in 95%+ of cases, the opponent won't have Combat Reflexes...
