*pokes Fenris one more time*

We move tomorrow, word or no.

OOC:[sblock] Five more minutes! ZZZZZ

Pokes back (I don't remember a first poke!)

Mea cupla. Home computer was down for the past week and I have been on the road extensively, well since mid-September so I am not in the office during the day. BUT home computer is working finally and I am back in the saddle, well oonce I can get more than 4 hours a sleep a night  :( [/sblock]

OOC:Well I was going to poke around town for rumors, but since Aiken has that covered, Kali will go with Oirhandir. A girl can often go where a man cannot or dare not go :o

Kali will ask if she can borrow a horse from Lord Valdor and will ask to accompany Oirhandir to Scarlet's plantation.

OOC: Sorry, things at work went real bad for a while, just got the time to catch up today, something coming tonight :)

Oirhandir, Kali, and Lupic -
Valdor indeed is happy to loan a horse to Kali for the journy, and the three ride out and down the south road for a while.

[sblock=Kali]About 40 feet down the road, you think you see a glint of steel from inside a tree.[/sblock]

Aikin and Nodis -
"Garza is a slaver for the most part, though he dabbles in other trades when profitable," Valdor says. "Don't concern myself with him too much, since he doesn't deal with me other than the occasional offer for Scarlet."

OOC: Any particular method to the gather info? Spending coin?

Aiken being low on liquid funds at the moment will try to sift thru the rumors on the street. See what the people think of him, how he treats his slaves. Try to find out if he is the instigator or maybe just a middleman. He ‘ll try to be inconspicuous with his questions so as not to make it obvious that he is inquiring into Garza's affairs.

"Don't worry about that" says Nodis. "I have plenty of gold, after selling that mine. Let's start at that tavernand buy a couple drinks for us and whoever wants to talk"

People living the good life… thinks Aiken.
“Well in that case, lead on”
With the offer of some extra cash Aiken will use it to help us soften up tongues.

Kali rides in close to Oirhandir and in a low voice says:
]"We may have trouble up ahead" she says with a subtle nod toward a tree further up the road. And Kali surreptitiously gets her bow out and an arrow.

[sblock] Sleight of hand to get the bow out and ready, since, well I can :) [/sblock]

Nodis, Aiken -
With some loose tongues and a small amount of gold (5), you manage to find out that Garza is indeed a slave trader, trading in all kinds of slaves, including the less savory slaves used in the "private entertainment" business, which is generaly frowned upon yet often overlooked. As are many in such businesses, he's thought to have many underground connections. He operates his business from a large building at the southern end of Rheim, where he offers slaves for rent or sale, as well as running the occasional auction. Some of his slaves are rumored to have previously been business rivals, or those who caused trouble with Garza, but that would be illegal, so most dismiss it at rumor, though a few you speak too are more suspicous.

Kali, Oirhandir, Lupic -
Kali reaches for her bow (it's way to big to draw stealthily) and mentions there could be trouble, and indeed, movement from around them seems to indicate such, as you can see 4 forms moving on the ground, and 2 in the trees around you.

[sblock=Combat Stuff]Initiative:
Kali - 22
Lupic - 17
Thugs - 16
Oirhandir - 15
More Thugs - 15
Even More Thugs - 4[/sblock]

[sblock=If Oirhandir is not immediately engaged in melee: ]The elf drew forth his chimes and began to play Wilhelm Sprech, a tune that many would recognize as belonging to an inspiring song about a man who singlehandedly defeated an entire group of bandits.[/sblock]
[sblock=If Oirhandir is immediately engaged in melee: ]The elf quickly drew his whip to defend himself, and rode with all haste in the direction that seemed safest.[/sblock]
