One Bad Egg going dark

It really is too bad... I'm with Mustrum Ridicully - I always considered buying one of their products, but I just never did. I might in the future, though - hopefully you guys can see some returns later on down the road. :)

I just bought hard boiled armies a few days ago and it helped me pull off some mass combat without a hitch. Now I am utterly unworried about the 300+ goblinoid army assaulting the PCs in their fort with 100+ people on their side.

(MY players on the other hand are very worried)

That's a real shame - I don't play 4e so I haven't purchased any of their products, but I've certainly heard of One Bad Egg (because I buy mostly PDFs and check out the EN World Publishers and Press Releases forum on a daily basis). Their products always looked so interesting and professional. Perhaps they will consider looking at alternatives with more 3PP-friendly licenses like True20 and Pathfinder in the future.

I *will* be buying the Dresden Files RPG someday from Fred and Rob though! B-)

I'm on the "never met" OBE before team.

Too bad Wotc is a bit close to 3pps today, compared to 3E era where some creatures from Creature Collection showed up on MMII. Would it be cool if they have some agreement and release 3pp monsters for Monster Builder.

There's already the "green" entries for home made... 3pps could use their creativity and sell "blue" monsters for it.

Sorry to see you guys go. I wonder, though, whether the superb quality and production values of your products didn't impact this decision. Releasing quality products like OBE did costs money and needs to be supported by excellent sales. I personally think its very hard in a pdf market with small products to support that high quality production value. Anywho, you did fantastic stuff.

I think I speak for all the Eggheads when we say that the Open Gods project in general and your Scarrport product in particular were one of the highlights.

Although I liked everything we put out, I think that book was one of the more essential ones. It was a ton of fun to write up some gods and see them all come together in a single book, organic and at times contradictory.

Cheers,
Cam
