One sentence island concepts

An island floating above the water

An erupting volcanic island (hot water and big waves rolling out from it)

A forested island swarming with insects who get bigger as you approach the center, at the center you find a huge fiendish monstrous spider

An island protected by an Aquatic Ogre-Magi who the inhabitants consider to be a god

An uplifted coral makatea with no safe landing bays, inhabited by Kenku with gliders

A collapsing coral makatea being burrowed into by purple worms

Barter Stone: Little more than a low outcropping of rock that barely surfaces above the high tide line, this island is a meeting place and trading post between air- and water-breathing beings.
 

Full of nutritious plant life and fresh water sources, one broken boat, inhabited by seven people, including two sailors, a married couple, two single women and an inventor who can make nearly anything as long as it doesn't help to fix the boat.

Or, how about a Gargantuan Reptile that carries a population of stirges, giant insects, and those fly-people from the XPH...?

And how about a sentient Island that is controlled by a wicked Druid?
 

Oh! Oh! Damn you! I have a great idea and really want to share it, though it just made the final cut for inclusion in the forthcoming print edition of Simple 20 (basically, I had narrowed it down to three settings from my Library of Weird, and it won out due to the fact that it is based on an island and, thus, easily inserted into almost any fantasy campaign world). If only you had posted this thread a few months ago :(
 

Hobson Choice II: An iceburg with a community mining the core for gems (diamonds). Of course, the whole thing is melting...
