One-shot adventure suggestions

Mista Collins

First Post
I am going to be running a one shot adventure next Thursday at large gaming session (6 dm's running different games) and was wondering if anyone had a good suggestion of a one shot adventure that would fall under some of these categories:

- Fun and memorable
- About 5 hours in length
- d20 rules (preferably D&D)
- Level does not matter (but a first time gamer might show up)
- Something where I can pregenerate characters
- I would like a little hook in it (players have own agendas or something similar)

Any suggestions would be grateful. This will be the first time I DM for many of these players (not first time overall though).

Crothian took the words out of my mouth (or out of my keyboard, as the case may be). Pre-gen characters, some new stuff for experienced players, but still good ol' D&D.

"Beast of Burden" from one of last year's Dunegon Magazines if you can find it. This adventure takes a lot of pre time to run properly but its tons of fun. I ran it as a one-shot and had a lot of success.

I just read this on another post and found it rediculously memorable.

To paraphrase:

The group encounters a coked out Fire-Giant who just caught his wife cheating on him.

I would pay to play in a game where this happened... just to laugh all night.

A combination of "COPS" and "Jerry Springer" with Fire Giants!

I dare them to not remember!!

I've got a fairly good write up of an adventure that I ran at the last NC Game Day. It's called Orcz and the players run a group of Orcs who are trying to free their chieftain who's been captured by a band of goblins.

It's got powdered faeries, headless zombies, an Ogre named Reginald, an opposing "Good" party of adventurers and Daern's Instant Outhouse.

Let me know if you want details.

Do you know where this was? It sounds like a lot of fun to run.

I apologize for not getting anything to you, Mista Collins. I can't seem to find the files on my hard drive right now (I'm sure they're in there somewhere though) and I've got a lot on my plate during the final couple days before the next North Carolina Game Day. I'll try to find what I can and send it to you next week.
