One shot adventure?

Back to the original poster's question, I second the recommendation of Living Forgotten Realms adventures. They're not perfect, but they're complete, self-contained one-shot adventures that can be tweaked to suit your group and your DMing style.

Thank you for all the ideas.Since I already ran the Kobold Hall adventure, I think I'll go with the Chaos Scar modules, they seemed perfect for what I intended to do. The Living Forgotten Realms also sounds good though.

About the essentials topic, there's been a lot of confusion indeed, I know that it is still 4e (for beginners), but I know that still, some changes were made which is not a lie, since a lot of rules have been revised and corrected for essentials and I am the kind of person that stopped reading the errata sheets from WotC since a long time ago, so I don't know if those changes were radical or not. It's really difficult to get any kind of D&D product in my country, so after the hard job that was getting all my hard cover core rule books I just started ignoring that kind of new products :B
