Say, I've been pondering a one-shot adventure for a few days now, and I thought I'd share it with my buddies here at Nutkinland.
This one-shot adventure would require a good-sized group of players, favorably about 6. Each player would play as a thief, whether that be rogue, bard, wizard, or even barbarian.
The plot of the one-shot would be to break into the house of the town Sheriff. It would be a large mansion, with dozens of rooms (with many treasures) and quite a few stories. The house would include the town jail, which is teaming with unruly prisoners.
The goals of the characters would be to break into the house at midnight, and loot until the sun rises. Fortunately, the Sheriff is a very heavy sleeper. Unfortunately, he's hired a master trapsmith to protect his house.
The characters would gain points through disarming traps, looting treasure, freeing prisoners (who may or may not work with the characters), kidnapping the sheriff's daughter (who's not all that unwilling, should the thief have a worthy charisma), and getting away without becoming a prisoner of the jail themselves.
I'd probably run it round by round (hm... maybe I'd shorten the time from 6 hours to something like 1 or 2) and come up with a point system for each piece of treasure, each trap, and each freed prisoner.
What do you think?
Any ideas?
