Adventurer's Guild of Exemplary and Legendary Explorers, Scientists and Scholars (AGELESS)

After a long hiatus we will soon begin the third module of a long-time online campaign and are seeking a few interested players. This campaign is set on a quasi-historical Earth-like world that also had traditional D&D races, classes, magic and deities. This is the same gaming world that was used for several Wild West modules, but here uses an International ’Pulp’ flavor to the adventure. The first two modules were set in September 1882, the next one will begin in February 1883. The prior modules are on Page 1 of Story Hour and also at the following link:

(11) AGELESS Campaign Episode 2 - Temple of the Cat-Goddess | EN World D&D & Tabletop RPG News & Reviews

World Background:
This world has no Judeo-Christian religious background, with the Greek & Roman deities worshiped as the dominant religion among Western Civilization. The official ’Greek-Roman Church’ is organized similar to our history’s Roman Catholic Church. Other Pantheons actively worshiped among the Western nations are the Norse and Celtic. Other parts of the world worship the dieties native to those regional races and culture. Wizard magic originated on the long-lost island of Atlantis. In addition to "The Iliad" and "The Odyssey" Homer’s writings included a third volume titled "Atlantis" which containing Atlantean wizard spells. This book was considered to be heretical and ordered to be destroyed (although copies survived).

Europe had major upheavals during the 14th to 16th century, but rather than it being the Protestant Reformation the conflict was regarding Clerical Magic vs. Wizard Magic. The Clerical-magic countries of Great Britain, Ireland, Scandinavia, Germany, Italy and Greece colonized most of North America. The Wizard-magic countries of France, Portugal and Spain colonized Central and South America. Africa and Asia were colonized by nations of both outlooks.

The original indigenous races of the world are as follows (and unlike traditional D&D none are "evil" aligned):
England, Wales, Central Europe, southern Europe, Saharan Africa and Mediterranean regions = Humans;
Northern Europe and Scotland = Dwarves;
North America = High Elves and Centaurs;
Central & South America = Wood Elves;
Central & Southern Africa = Ogres and Half-ogres;
East Asia = Orcs and Half-orcs;
India = Goblins;
Australia = Halflings;
Pacific Islanders = Gnomes;
Antarctica = Giants and Bugbears.

The world itself is "low magic", where the vast majority of the people use little-to-no magic. Most priests, druids, sorcerers, wizards and bards tend to be no higher than 5th Level. In the United States ’Wizard Magic’ is considered to be witchcraft and is illegal (although many people secretly own a magic item and/or know one or two low-level spell that can discretely assist them in their chosen professions). Great Britain’s Queen Victoria is a staunch opponent of all Wizard Magic. Within the Pro-Wizard Magic nations the tolerance towards Clerical Magic varies widely. France is currently in political disarray as a druidess and her followers recently overthrew the government in a bloodless coup.

Ruby will be back with her particular flair for chaos and trouble ;)

This game is role play heavy and also really, really fun! Silvermoon pretty much lets you try literally anything - doesn’t mean it will work but if you fail it will be quite a spectacular time. :D

@Steve Jung will you play Chester or Lawrence, or both? Lol
Based on Steve's post, my guess is that Town Marshal Chester Martin will be coming as a guest to Ruby's wedding. A train from Promise City, AZ will be bringing Pedro & Dorita Figueres and also Albert and Madge Brower, so Chester could join them. He will have to decide if Clarisse will join him, as mid-February will still be prior to their upcoming Spring 1883 wedding.

During this time frame the railroad connecting Promise City to Tombstone is nearing completion, so this short window of time would be the "calm before the storm", prior to the town becoming far more hectic , and will soon be needing its Marshal back. I am looking forward to AGELESS wedding guest Lawrence Cantrell meeting Chester Martin. I am sure that Lawrence has heard about Chet from Ruby (and also read about him in Elihu Upton's best-selling book about Wyatt Earp's trial). I always get a kick out of players talking to themself.

Oh my gosh, that is AMAZING!!! I don’t know anything about what is going on in Promise City! Chester is coming, Yayayayyayay!!!!!!!

….. and did you just say AL AND MADGE BROWER?!?! Why did Ruby not receive a telegram or note or a wedding invite?!?

lol

That is also really funny about players speaking to themselves. I was just rereading the thread that Lori reposted - thank you Lori!,!!! - and I mentioned that I played the sawbones in the 7 outlaws games who broke into Ruby’s meeting house and blew it up. That was a tough day that really stretched my role playing abilities. :l
