(edit: Carradoc's suggestion to use Alter Self (first as KC, then maybe as monk) to attempt deception seems to have been dismissed or not pursued [one person expressed a view]. That's fine, and means we go in guns ablating? Also fine, though I think stealth and sneakers remains an option.)

I rather thought Carradoc's plan to use disguise to infiltrate the basement was a good one. I'd like to venture down to the basement to continue exploring. Matters not to me whether we do it through Thaliss's hole (insert bad pun here) or by way of the ogres.

Agh. Sorry I've been such an absentee again. Partly outside causes, but I admit, I'm having a lot of trouble connecting.

Not sure if it's the character or game. I will get caught up today and stop dragging my heels on working out what I need to do so I'm not a game-zombie anymore.

Sorry, my goal isn't to stall things, but jumping into a room that has a mysterious hidden creature, and not knowing the layout is a bit risky, compared to the route we just came from.

If not, what's wront with going through the room with the ogre?

Nothing's wrong with going through the room with the Ogre. I offered deception (you suggested that wasn't worth pursuing), force, and going around (down the hole). I just want to do something!

I guess it's Creamstreak's call as to whether Dent and Carradoc have jumped by now (and then for you to choose whether you've come along). But if not, then you need to give us something to do.

Carradoc's traits include "I'm in this for the adventure" and "will show off to be noticed" -- I'm trying to pursue that, but also to move the story.

I understand. Regarding the room with the ogre, i just felt that going in and attacking was a better alternative than subterfuge (my opinion only, and quite debatable). I didn't want to shut you down and apologize if that is what it sounded like.

Also, I appreciate the desire to move things along, so Thaliss will also jump in if Dent and Caradoc jump.

I think multiple creatures may be a tougher pill to take right now. A single creature, if that's what it is, could be easier to tank since Dent has a pretty ridiculous AC. Tolan is getting close to being on his last legs and I don't believe we have much in the way of healing left.

But I do think we need to get a better idea of what's down there... whether a familiar or whatever other options we have.

I'd like to stick to my declaration that Dent jumped, please. If no one else is quite ready to go down in the chasm just yet, no problem. Perhaps we can say Dent jumped in and is advance scout?
