It's not backwards compatible like that, but if Creamsteak doesn't have a problem with it, go for it.

I thought it was RAW, just like on page 125 of the phb that says that if you get proficiencies and tools from different sources you get to pick one of your choice. You're right that nothing is explicit about spells though (unless it is, and I simply haven't found it). I don't think there's anything game-breaking about this anyways, but thanks for pointing it out!

Another thing to keep in mind about the spell sniper feat which I find really strange is the fact that, RAW, it allows spell attacks to ignore half cover and three-quarters cover. However, unless I'm mistaken, prone targets will still be attacked with disadvantage. To me, this is really weird because being prone is in essence a form of cover, but the feat doesn't explicitly say it, and the prone condition mentions nothing of cover. So a prone enemy can be 10 ft in front of Thaliss and will be attacked with disadvantage, and an enemy with 3/4 cover behind a wall won't, unless Creamsteak rules otherwise.

Shayuri, you could also go for a breastplate from something natural (I've used a turtle-shell breastplate in previous 5e druids that I've played) if you have access to the gold.

Hey Guys!

I wanted to make sure every is back online and start a conversation about our party's next destination. I'm a proponent of returning to the stone temple to get the noble Rhundorth. We could also get the riverboat/barge back to bring Bruldenthar's books to him and get a ransom. The alternative is to go to the spire to get 2 other nobles: Deseyna Norvael and Teresial. I am assuming they went to the spire since the captors were riding griffons and vultures.

More info here: @creamsteak's post 1068

Also, can we assume that we gave ourselves 1 nights of rest, and were ready to leave on the 2nd day. I don't mind if we need to stay longer, I just want to substract the appropriate living expenses.

FYI, Thaliss spent most of his time in Red Larch with Carradoc, talking about the arcane, buying inks, copying spells and casting find familiar. Unless required, I won't role-play this downtime.

Cheers,

SG

I'm here. I don't have input to offer where we go next (I had more than my share of say in where we went this last time). If a majority vote emerges as to our destination, I'll go with that. The only thing I want input on is that I prefer to stay two nights in Red Larch.

EDIT: The only thing Dent needs to buy are provisions (food, water), but I don't really want to rp those purchases. I'll just update his sheet and deduct coin accordingly, if Creamsteak doesn't mind. I should note that I'm not really keen to adventure with a pack of NPCs in tow, but don't really know how to ditch the KC. Although I don't care to rp mundane purchases, I wouldn't mind to rp Dent's inevitable meltdown when the KC leaves. Maybe Dent'll have an internal meltdown, maybe he'll break stuff in a fit of rage, maybe he'll experience revelation and conversion (kinda doubt the latter), who knows--especially since we're about to pick up a new goody two-shoes druidess?
