D&D 5E [OOC] A Light Hearted Princes of Elemental Evil Hack and Slash

Oof...I didn't know we were losing Tolan. Does that leave Dent as our only melee guy?
Aridha-substitute is our other melee guy! Druids are STRONG when wildshaped.

EDIT: Except I just remembered that Meighan (sp?) isn't a Circle of the Moon druid, so her melee ability may be less than Ari's.

I think we should still be good with our current slate of classes? Thaliss and Damien are more than capable at doling damage. Dent fills in the front line and can soak hits. Carradoc is proving amazingly useful at putting combatants out of commission via sleep and other magical means. And we still have Meighan, and should be able to enjoy a good bit of utility out of her.

Don't get me wrong, I hope we don't have to do without Tolan. It's nice to have another tank to soak up hits (but Damien does some of that already) and dole out teh hurt. Plus, I enjoy hafrogman's witticisms. But I think we're okay without a second front-line melee combatant. Or, if we're not, it's okay with me if we go try things out for a while and decide later on that our current arrangement is dysfunctional.

Hragh. Ironic that just as I'm ready to switch Aridha out, we kind of need her.

But her story is too hard to tie in...and her personality isn't working in this group for me.

So okay. Maighan CAN still help out, with the Conjure Animal spell. Plopping a CR2 beast in a fight might help take some pressure off you guys. :)

Is anyone looking to me for anything at the moment? So far I'm fine with all the characters as I've looked at them. I'm mostly looking at the players to direct the momentum of the game at this time... so let me know if you feel like you're hanging.

I'm going to assume Tolan will leave with Aridha at this point.

Is there any background information Maighan might have about the druids operating in the area? What do other druids know about them? I'll work it into my inaugural post.

CB: Thanks for the cover on Dent. I kinda forgot why you were there to begin with for a bit.

Shayuri: A quick synopsis, you've got two factions in the area, The Emerald Enclave and the Circle of the Scarlet Moon.

THE EMERALD ENCLAVE
This widespread group of wilderness survivalists preserves the natural order while rooting out unnatural threats. Many of the Enclave's members are barbarians, druids, and rangers. Some wander the untamed lands while others make their homes on the outskirts of towns and villages, where they help to protect travelers from the dangers of the wild.

The enclave's greatest stronghold in the region is the fortified farm and abbey to Chauntea called Goldenfields. Abbot Ellardin Darovik is a senior agent of the Emerald Enclave. In the High Forest to the east lies Shadowtop Cathedral, another of the enclave's meeting places.

SCARLET MOON HALL
Deep in the wild heart of the Sumber Hills stands Scarlet Moon Hall, the abode of the druids of the Circle of the Scarlet Moon. To folk of the Dessarin Valley, this is a mysterious place. It stands deep in the Sumber Hills "where the worst monsters are"—and as a result local hunters, prospectors, herbalists, and woodcutters rarely go near the place.

Elizar Dryflagon is the leader of the Circle and he has been attempting to gather as many druids as possible for a festival he is intending to have, and to perform some form of ritual to restore the natural balance.

The latter is a big reason some travelers (including a caravaner with a wagon-load of mead) were passing through Red Larch recently.
