Then subtract 3 for the harsh terrain of Mirkwood.

I'm assuming half of 3 is 1 so:
_: 1D12+5+1-3 = [12]+5+1-3 = 15

Woot! That's two good rolls in a row. Just wait for combat, when I bust out my 1s.
