[OOC] Cirque de Soliel - Verakai - OMG!!

I got the chance to take my wife to Alegria in february. I thought it was the most amazing thing, and I am told it is not the best show they do. I have seen it on TV before, but it is true it is not as good as it is in person.
I have been playing a rogue on my way to a thief-acrobat type, but I had not even dreamed of trying to pull some of the tricks these guys do. It deffinitely is inspiring!

oh.

:o

My bad. It just seems that everytime i speak or type french someone comes along and messes with me French.

It was a cool show though =)

The "La Nouba" one at Disney was $78 a seat. "O" runs $90-120 a seat, and "Mystere" is $80 a seat. There are also several DVD's- I recommend renting "Dralion" and "Quidam." They don't quite capture the incredible surreality of the live productions, but would certainly give you an idea if you think it's worth it to shell out that kind of money on Cirque.

I've seen DVDs(a friend of mine[who I met in our high school french class] basically worships the Cirque de Soleil), now I wanna go see a live show. I might take him with me as an early birthday present.

The one in New York in July will be Verakai. if he worships them he should love this one. The net act with Icarus ... and the two guys who fly around with just a strap on their arm ...

Maybe it was just because they were hot but their abilities were AMAZING!

I don't know if it's still touring, but Dralion is one of their best shows. It's got an elemental theme (each act has something to do with air, earth, fire, and water). They have an act they do with Chinese-style dragons, balancing on ablls and ramps and whatnot. IT would be impressive if, say, elephants were doing it, but the fact that it's two guys in a dragon suit doing the stunts and it's just frikkin' unbelievable.

There's another act in that one that involves a troupe of actobats jumping through hoops. It sounds tame on paper, but they do things that are not physically possible.

My wife and I have seen 5 shows, now; Dralion, Quidam, La Nouba, Mystere, and Alegria. Every one of them is unbelievable. They can turn off gravity at will.

I am perpetually convinced that a troupe of rogues, fighters and bards based off of cirque shows could kick everyone's butt, but then, I'm a gamer geek...

Well put. And, just to be goofy:

Skill Perfection
You have transcended mere error.
Prerequisites: Cha 15+, Int 15+, Skill Focus (Chosen Skill), 6 ranks Chosen Skill
Benefits: You may take 20 under any circumstances when using the chosen skill. When you have perfected a skill, you take 20 by visualizing the first 19 tries, waiting patiently, and then springing in to motion so that you complete the task just when you normally would while taking 20.
Normal: You can only take 20 when there is no chance of penalty, blah blah blah, uses 20x as much materials for Craft, blah blah...
Special: You may take this feat multiple times. It does not stack. Each time it applies to a different Chosen Skill.

The more skilled members of Cirque De Soleil would naturally have this feat.
