Word on the meta threads was that the site was just over due for a little routine maintenance to keep everything moving smoothly along. I hope this will inspire them to keep with the routine instead of waiting until the site is useless before they tidy up next time.

People were more than a little peeved this time around to find that the problem was internal maintenance rather than hardware failure, hurricane related hosting problems or spammers which are external or unexpected. Maybe I'm just an eternal optimist.

Well, call me weird (j/k DeWar, you really don't have to take this invitation literally), but I'm somewhat relieved to hear that it was caused by internal issues. At least that way we know that the integrity of our favorite site has not been compromised!
