Well since I first asked the question and nobody else has replied to it lets just say that William is holding the treasure and as soon as we finish up at the cottage we divy it up between ourselves.

I've added a party equipment list to William's character sheet. The equipment is actually spread out among whoever in the party is willing to carry it, if it was only William he'd probably be overburdened quickly. I just put in on his sheet so it's all listed in one place. And because I appear to now be the party's unnoficial treasurer.

I'm going to be out of town from tomorrow to September 5th. I'm not sure if I'll have computer access but I wouldn't count on it.
