Wow, maybe Sabine does stand a chance of taking Tarquin by surprise - despite his usual genre-savviness, he appears to be ignorant of her feelings for Nale.

But then, if there's one thing this strip demonstrates, it's that emotional attachment is Tarqun's weak spot - he just doesn't get it at all.

Did he even meet Sabine as Nale's Girlfriend (or at all)? I can't remember...

I'm not sure whether he met her, but he claims to have been protecting Nale for years, so he ought to have at least been aware of her.
