I can definitely see Nale being an unwilling operative for IFCC causing their plan to fail in the end - maybe he'll warn the Order or disobey IFCC's order at a key moment, but forcing him back to the world of living after he decided he had enough of it will be IFCC's fatal mistake.

I could see Nale returning to life and redeeming himself part of a happy ending for Elan.
