He was likely talking about the Half-Elf.
Right. But the guard in #356 is dark skinned, black-haired and red-eyed; if you page back a few frames, the other male police officer was fair skinned, blonde with the usual black eyes. So the Half-elf didn't actually do anything to be complimented for except notice that Sabine is the guard.

OotS #356

Hmm, I know some people have complained that OotS is focusing on the story at the expense of the humour, but generally I've found something to laugh at each strip. This one is the first I can recall that contains nothing I'd think of as a joke.

Nevermind, after the last few excellent strips I can stand one strip of set-up, and I'm confident the pay-off will be worth it.

EDIT: Apologies - I looked for an existing OotS 356 thread, but missed it. Could a Mod delete or merge this one?

Well, it wasn't really a joke but I found Roy's comment about his younger sister 'being able to only poke fun at the shortcomings of others as not being useful in combat' amusing.

All in all I think this was indeed a set-up strip. The previous two strips had been about the OotS foiling TLG, and the previous five or so before that were about TLG's plan unfolding. The end of this strip seems to indicate that nobody has the upper hand. Standoff, again. But that means there should be an interesting confrontation ahead. Either that, or Nale's gone with Elan and then the strip gets to take an incredible turn: Roy goes off with the party to rescue Elan and make sure that he's safe. Who'd have thunk it?
