OotS #364 Is Up

How long until the party realizes Nale is disguised as Elan?

Any takers?

Belkar already knows, but isn't saying anything because he thinks it's funny. Haley will figure it out when it's appropriate, and it'll probably involve the resolution of her speech problem.

The rest probably won't pick up on it.

"I'm Elan!" :D

I think it would be interesting, instead, if Elan--fearful for the safety of his friends--showed a brief flash of competence, escaped from Cliffport, and caught up with the party. :D

You know, I'm actually rather curious as to what the rest of Elan's spells are. V's tossing around Disintegrates, which means Elan should have at least 4th level bard spells. Something like Modify Memory on Thog could be damn interesting.

Edit: Wait. Nevermind. This is Elan we're talking about. Let's face it, he knows Speak with Plants and Leomund's Secure Shelter. :p

Thog's redemption under the influence of Elan?

Thog must live on!! :D

I was just thinking the same thing... that there's bound to be a scene with Elan and Thog in jail. Thog ultimately becomes confused as to the true identity of Elan (He sure looks like Nale), and hilarity ensues... Possibly with Thog pummeling his way through an escape while dragging Elan along with him.

Could happen... We'll see.

In either case, though, I really hope Rich doesn't take too long to resolve the issue. I'm not a fan of long-running "mistaken identity" plotlines, and I'd really like to get back to the "main plot" of the campaign, as it were.

Unfortunately, given the way Rich had dragged out the "Haley can't speak" subplot, it could mean that we are seeing this one go on for a while.

Random thought:

Everyone's wondering about how the OotS will figure out that it's Nale with them.

I think it would be interesting, instead, if Elan--fearful for the safety of his friends--showed a brief flash of competence, escaped from Cliffport, and caught up with the party. :D

More likely: the Linear Guild will tire of Elan's idiocy, and either:

(1) Let him go, or
(2) Convert to the worship of Banjo.

Oh, yeah! And then she agreed on helping because it involved embarassing Roy. It's all coming back to me (in a non-Celine Dion kinda way).

No, she never agreed. The closest she came to helping the Linear Guild was when she didn't immediately warn Roy about Sabine being right behind him.
