I agree. It was a good strip, but it seemed to take them away from where they're been heading.
However, with one storyarc over, it can't be too long before we return the action. Hopefully, more Xygon, and I would love to see the party split across a large battlefield, with each having to reach each other and forced to rely on themselves or others. Maybe put Haley and Elan together, and then Belkar and V?

Hmm. I've really enjoyed the run up to this point, but this joke didn't sit too well with me.

I think the "fourth wall meaning was all in Haley's line: "Things will be different now, sure but some things will never change." They'll still be the Whackjob and Greedy Babe we've known and loved.

It was a fantastic joke. Then again, it's akin to the olde Paladins/Alcohol joke. Some like it, some think it is very far from.

Paladin: Oh man, I got so drunk last night.
Other PC: Huh. I didn't think Paladins could get drunk.
Paladin: We're only immune to Alcoholism, not alcohol.

Afraid I must disagree with some ealier posters. Rich has indeed been on quite a roll recently, but this is my favorite strip in quite some time.
