Yeah, I doubt a 22 would have done better than a 21 though. But I think we've all been there (forgetting modifiers until it's too late, I mean).

I don't know about you, but I have missed a save or a to hit roll by 1 more often than I care to remember.

And if Action Points are on the table... I miss by X, where X equals my d20 + my Action Point rolls +1...

This happened to me twice just in the last d20 Modern session we played (Monday).

No, my DM wasn't just messing with me... My luck is like that sometimes

I have a player who has a tendency, whenever he uses action points, to get a result below 5 on his d20... He's usually better off not using them.

I guess his d20 is jealous and doesn't like it when he rolls another die at the same time. Maybe the die is turned off by group rolls. Or maybe that's a morphist die, who just dislike d6. Who knows?

Neither the player nor the d20 should know this ahead of time; you use action points after you see the d20 result, not before.
