OOTS 487: Their Concierge Service is Heavenly

Frequent Dying Miles

Pure genius!
I made the classic mistake of drinking something while getting to the end of an OotS panel.

It is nice to see Rich back in the swing of things, and to see Roy getting some face time after being killed relatively early in the battle.

Strangely enough, only paladins get S for associately cross-alignment.

The implication is that association with evil characters is an evil act, and that being Paladins they must be so good and holy that they cannot maintain thier status while doing so.

Just because they are the only ones explicitly punished, doesn't mean that they are the only ones held to that standard. They may be paragons of Lawful Goodness, but that doesn't mean other lawful goods aren't expected to try to strive to live by the same standards.

You can read it that way, but I don't.

Similarly to how lying is prohibited, but lying is not (necessarily) an [Evil] act IMHO.

... which, IMO, doesn't make sense to me. How is the Paladin supposed to sway evil-kind to goodness if they are not allowed to associate with them? I guess Paladins really ARE allowed to kill anyone with an Evil alignment, regardless of circumstances.

... Good ol' Paladins. They're the reason why I threw out alignment IMC.

I wonder what this experience was like for Miho.
Probably filled with awkwardness, chagrin, and unpleasent revelations. I think we can assume that, assuming she ends up in an upper plane (what I'd expect; she's terribly, tragically wrong, not twisted and evil). I'm thinking mandatory classes in Remedial Goodness And Humility, here :p

I doubt we're going to be shown that part; the Miko storyline's 100% over and done at this point, I think. I hope. :uhoh:

Wonder if they have a bar and grille for epic-level characters, as they usually only get a 10-minute break when they die rather than having to wait 'til morning (assuming their cleric is wise enough to have true res prepared each day).
