Also, I would expect that in paradise, you're a little more challenged than "always getting what you want". The occasional loss makes the success all that better.

There's a Twilight Zone episode like that. Petty criminal dies, and the person showing him around the afterlife shows him the gambling tables where he can't lose, the women that fall over his every word, and his every whim is instantly satisfied. He has to struggle for nothing. He assumes he's in Heaven and at the end he's bored out of his skull. He asks the attendent if he could go to 'the other place'. The attendent laughs at him and says 'This is the other place...'.

The punchline is great. "Our Lawful patrons," heehee. But am I the only one who found the name "Roy's archon" to be highly amusing? :p

"The tavern of infinite one-night stands" - pretty Chaotic version of LG heaven.

Or maybe it's really NG heaven (Elysium) and part of the reward is *thinking* it's LG?

Actually, I think that joke went over my head. Can anyone explain it to me? I have a feeling this is one of those instances where I'm going to feel dumb after it's explained, but all the same...

Huh, I figured folks of all ethical alignments enjoyed sex.

It's a matter of survival. Be fertile and produce a lot of lawful kids and your alignment will survive.
