Oots 501!

I suspect nothing is actually wrong with Elan's eye. If Durkon is of sufficient level to cast Resurrection, then he is of sufficient level to cast Regenerate.

I suspect we'll find out only when he meets back up with Haley, and she inevitably exclaims, "Elan! What happened to your eye!" (Oo)

Only then, will be it be dramatically appropriate to explain that it is, in fact, a new class feature that he picked up when he gained the latest level of his prestige class.

I'm right with you there...

It's good to pick up the story again. :)

I think more signs are pointing to the idea that Kazumi and Daigo are the temporary replacements for Haley and Belkar, so that their players don't get bored on the Azure Fleet side of the campaign. I wouldn't be surrpised if this was being run as an alternating perspectives kind of game, where half the time the players are with Durkon, Elan, V, and the Azure Fleet people, and the other half of the time they are with Haley, Belkar, and a new cast of characters they have banded together on land.

Some things of note:

The eyepatch! Others have guessed the obvious (he is weearing it for fun/cool/badass/pirate), so I will guess the classic reason for all eyepatches. Looking at the sun using a sextant way too much, probably in the process of being a goofy idiot, rather than navigating.

V is MIA! The elf is not in any of the panels of this strip. I find that interesting. Probably a red herring, or a simple bout of forgetfulness on Rich's part, but interesting.

Bipedal elephant man! Fun.

Then Daigo needs to start being a lot more homicidal and funny:)

Yeah. Belkar doesn't seem to have a very sophisticated player. Any character that player player has should end up being rather like Belkar.

There's also the chance that it's a magic eyepatch. I mean, if they found a magic eyepatch, they'd probably give it to a permanent PC, as opposed to a fill-in character, and Durkon and V would probably look rather dumb with an eyepatch... looking dumb isn't something that seems like it'd bother Elan ;).

Or Belkar's player is VERY sophisticated and is able to play such a character funny and well enough so that the rest of the party doesn't kick him off a cliff and send the player packing. Anybody can have a jerk character. It takes SKILL to make a jerk character entertaining enough that you want him to stick around.

Why not Kazumi? it looks like she could be the one the "accidently" killed a soldier with a polearm.

"Dear, i have a craving, can you get me some BLOOD, BLOOD, BLOOD, please?"
