You know, as soon as I'd read, "I won't let entire ships of civilians get picked off one at a time", I thought the exact same thing.

4th edition

Elan: Come on V, you'll love it there, Wizards never run out of spells, there are no negative ability modifiers and you can cast 30th level spells!

Vaarsuvius: I have spent multiple human lifetimes learning, no mastering the mystical arts so I can craft spells and true artifacts of---Elan: Item creation doesn't cost XP.---V: Let's go.

Durkon: Bah, in my day....

Elan: There are no Gnome Druids.

Durkon: Aye, let's turn to port and be on our way, which way was port again?

Hinjo: Ah....Elan there are no Bards there either.

Elan: I know, there I get to be a WARLORD!

Hinjo:
V: :\
Durkon: :uhoh:

Hinjo: Turn the fleet around!

Now all we need to see "Xykon-Occupied Azure City" scenes like the "Cylon Occupied Caprica" scenes from Season 1.

I've had a BSG vibe from the whole plot arc. Massive surprise assault by an old foe, aided by traitors from within (Kubota and Tsukiko), the destruction of an ancient and proud civilization including the death of the leader and a military leader being the main heir to command, a tattered fleet of survivors.

It looks like they might well be going to their version of the New Caprica plot, with settling down somewhere else and ending the chase to settled down somewhere indefinitely.

Haley is a little like Starbuck, Durkon is gruff and terse and loves alcohol like Tigh, Elan is like Boxey :), we have Hinjo in the Adama role as the wise military leader, Belkar has no regard for anyone but himself and is like Baltar, but not as smart, and Varsuuvius is the generally calm and collected brains of the outfit that keeps things quietly together like Gaeta.

Not quite yet. That'll take nine months.
If they want to home-grow their own cohort, add about twenty years! (Though they could choose a "creepy child with psionic powers" for their cohort.)
