I just love the concept of "typical" wildest imaginations.

I can almost imagine the imp trying to talk V out of this deal in the next part. He seems frightened by what might be at stake.

Demons, Devils and Loths? And Sabine was reporting to these guys so we still cannot guess what kind of fiend she is. Who on earth would trust a tanar'ri to keep a pact anyway?

Is it just me, or did this almost-sorta-subplot suddenly take a turn for the Main Plot? I mean, if V enters into a bargain with these guys, he/she will be beholden to the allies of the Linear Guild--who want the Gates themselves.

Maybe the replacement "evil opposite" for Vaarsuvius in the Linear Guild will be...

...Vaarsuvius.

Heh! Lee, Nero, Cedrik. That took me a minute to get...

Indeed, subtle. Good catch!
LEe, NEro, CEdrik

I'm curious if there's more meaning to the names beyond that. I'm no historian, but Nero is famous for fiddling while Rome burned, which could make sense for neutral evil... I'm thinking maybe Robert E. Lee could be considered Lawful Evil, though that may be a stretch? No idea what Cedrik could be a reference to.
