Real time and Strip time don't line up. The Oracle made a joke about that once, but I can't look it up now... Think it was when spirit Roy visited.

Yep. Spirit Roy complains about not remembering the prophecy, and the Oracle gives it to him in Oracle-speak, only to dismiss him with all his memories.

Belkar to be undead? Some variation of a necklace of adaptation? What else could it be?

My personal hope? Belkar gets unmade trying to stop V the third epic spell. Either that or something with the Snarl.

Like as not it's some sort of magic item though.

I'm not sure which is scarier: Semi-Mature "He gets that V's evil" Elan, Evil V, or a more accommodating Belkar.

Actually, come to think of it, the realization that Elan knows that Belkar is more agreeable and that V is not the same elf he knew is probably the scariest thing.

Belkar must have gone insane, he will die soon if he keeps telling a dwarf to shave.

He's just following Shojo's advice. Telling a dwarf to shave will piss off said dwarf, and Belkar doesn't even have to kill anyone. So Belkar has fun, and the whole party doesn't get pissed at him.

And our Elan has grown up! Greater Dispel Magic indeed! Next we'll find out he picked practiced spellcaster.

Yes, Elan actually doing something resembling thought and planning scares me from the shock value.
