Oozemaster

Most of my characters have good motives. They might fail in their jobs, but the heart is usually in the right place. This is my first character that has full mayrtr potential. I talked to the DM about it. I felt I had to warn him because my character will happily die for what he believes in. The problem is I like the character and don't want him to die. ;)

Don't forget to give him an ooze mephit cohort. Maybe he could develop spells that are "Ooze" versions of Animal Friendship and Awaken. Slime on.

that's the thing with characters with strong beliefs, they are the ones willing to "go the distance" as it were but they are also the ones that are best to play. half of my characters who die do it as martyrs (the rest die because some times i just do not want to meticulously plan the assault, my dwarf battlerager just wants charge over the hill and rage!) and every time, i am satisfied.

when a character of mine dies typically i do not want him brought back. sometimes though other players or dm's decide they must come back. with the dm i'm currently playing with i have this one character who comes back every time a certian nation faces a threat it's not prepared for. some times i don't really want to play him but the character is a favorite of mine and the dm would just screw him up so i do it.

Your character wouldn't be a 2,000 foot high mutated dinosaur that breathes fire, would he? If your DM is Roland Emmerich, yes, he definitely would screw it up if you weren't there.

Leadership is out of the question, but I did try to finagel an Ooze Familiar. Actually, the DM never ruled on it, I think he's hoping I'll let it drop.

Hmm, Ooze Friendship? I think that would be third Level. As for Ooze Awaken, I'm thinking 7th. Actually, both these are mind effecting spells and oozes are immune. I think to do it in the rules it'd need to be Epic.

I like to use resurection as a plot device. I've only ever had one character get resurected when I was DM. We had a solo session in his afterlife. It was all role play as he talked to his god and others for advice. He was offered paradise because he had earned. However, he was told what whould happen if he choose not to return to the prime material. He had to agree to a quest from his god to be resurected. THat was in addition to the others costs of being brought back.
