We’re starting a Forgotten Realms campaign (The Moon Sea region) at 4th level in which I’m playing a Barbarian (28 point buy, all books allowed). There are 3 other players in the party but they haven’t chosen yet their classes. I’m planning to go into the Runescarred Berserker PrC at 7th level and this is the build I’ve come up with:
Race: Human
Barbarian4/Fighter2/Runescarred Berserker10/open
Stats :
Str 16
Con 15 +1 at 4th level
Dex 12
Wis 12 +1 at 8th and 12th level
Cha 8
Int 10
Feats :
1st: Survivor, Intimidating Rage
3d level: Instantaneous Rage
5th level: Power Attack
6th level: Ettercap Berserker, Iron Will
9th level: Reckless Rage
12th level: open
15th level: open
Skill Tricks: Never Outnumbered
My idea is to be something more than a straightforward butcher. I imagine my hero all scarred with spells’ writings on his body scaring the
out of his foes when raging (we are using Intimidate with strength as a base ability variant rule).
I also like pretty much the ability of the Runescarred Berserker to be a tank/melee fighter and in the same time to be able to cast some nice spells when needed:
1st level: Divine Favor, True Strike, Protection from Evil, See Invisibility
2nd level: Keen Edge, Darkvision, Invisibility, Protection from Elements
3d level: Freedom of Movement, Death Ward, Cure Critical Wounds
4th level: Righteous Might, Restoration, Stoneskin
5th level: Antimagic Field, Dimensional Door
Items:
Cloak of Resistance 1000 gp
Chainshirt 100 gp
Greatsword +1 2350 gp
Triple weapon capsule retainer (450 gp) with Quickflame, Quickfrost, Quickspark (75gp)
I would appreciate your suggesting what should be changed or added to my build as well as what items should I buy (starting gold is 4k).
