Options for a replacement arm

Thurbane

First Post
In a game I'm playing, one of my comrades, a Halfling Rogue, lost his arm in a nasty teleporter accident. We both have magical tattoos on our shoulders that identify us as agents of a particular army. The Halfling got a Regeneration spell cast on him, but the magic of the tattoo messed it up, so that it took several weeks to grow back, a little bit at a time.

We recently got captured and tortured, and during this torture, the unfortunate Halfling lost his almost regrown arm again. Rather than go through another Regeneration spell, he's thinking about getting some kind of artificial or grafted arm.

What would people recommend? We're 5th level characters, with appropriate levels of wealth. ;)

If I recall correctly, WotC grafts range from expensive to absurdly overpriced.

How much liquid wealth do you have? I don't have my books in front of me, so "5th level wealth" doesn't help much. :)

You can find grafts in the following books:

  • Faiths of Eberron
  • Libris Mortis
  • Lords of Madness
  • Fiend Folio (incredibly expensive)
  • Magic of Eberron
  • Serpent Kingdoms
  • Races of the Dragon
  • Underdark
Faiths of Eberron, I think, would be your best bet for a cheap graft. The mighty arm (s) graft might be what your friend is looking for. Cost = 1000g plus the loss of 2hp.

Just stick a spork in his shoulder socket and call it good. Make sure you get the right end in there though, you want to be able to use the spork in case any tasty taco bell pops up.
