Options for Email Notification on Subscribed Threads?

War Golem

First Post
Currently, if I subscribe to a thread, I receive an email notification every time anyone posts to that thread. Is there any way to modify this so that I only receive an email notification when the Thread Starter posts to the thread?

I'm thinking primarily of the Story Hour threads, where I want to be alerted when the author posts a new installment, or answers some burning question, or whatever.... but I don't really feel a need to be notified every time some fan pipes up with random praise or bumps.

Thanks.

My understanding is that it is only SUPPOSED to send one email until you go back and look at the thread. Though I hear there may be some glitches. Anyway, just a creative bump.

I believe you are referring to a setting in the User Control Panel that allows one to choose whether or not you want a single email notification when someone responds to a thread subsequent to your own post in that thread.

However, if you actually subscribe to a thread, then you will be sent an email notification every time someone (anyone) posts to the thread.

Thanks.

Subscribing to a thread ought to send you only one e-mail the first time someone replies.

Further, this cycle is re-set whenever you log in to EN World again.

Maybe this is the part that has been throwing me off. I'll pay closer attention...

I still think it would make sense to have an option to be notified every time the thread starter posted. Again, for the Story Hours, this seems like a no-brainer.

Or even when a specified user posted and/or started a new thread. For instance, I wouldn't mind being notified every time SHARK started a new thread out in the General Forum.
