I suspect this is going to be silly.
When the full ingredient list was posted in the judge's chat, one of the judges said pretty much exactly the same thing. The full quote: "That…looks like we can expect some silliness."

I’m going to say it: I think I may have audibly gasped when I saw the list of ingredients, so I want to be perfectly clear before I try to pick these entries apart: CONGRATULATIONS. Both of you, for pulling this off. I find this round inspiring in a way that makes me wish that I was competing, rather than judging, to see if I could pull off anything as good. Well done.
I think this absolutely bears repeating. What a wild set of ingredients to come together.

I was also going to comment on the "audible gasp" with a "hey, you contributed to that list too!" but then I went back and looked and, yeah, I guess the sillier ingredients were Rune and I's contributions.

Fenris-77’s Lavender Vortex of the Barista God (“Vortex”) gives us this year’s second vehicle-based race in its second Troika adventure. This entry presents a blend of gonzo and silly elements and is written in a cadence and voice reminiscent of Douglas Adams (although this is subtle enough that I only noticed after a few rereads).

I'm blown away by the love for Lavender Vortex. It was a blast to write, and the Douglas Adam's thing was very much on purpose and not a coincidence. I think Troika does his 'thing' better than most systems.
Yeah, I think it was clear, at least to me, that it was a deliberate stylistic choice, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed. That can be extremely difficult to pull off, and falling short can be pretty off-putting. So kudos for pulling it off.

I really want to find this Troika! now.

I have a solution. Link.

Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett both live rent free in my head and I enjoy the opportunity to let that out.
