Since it's unlikely that the giant grew the orc as a part of it's own anatomy (ugh... let's not dwell on that one), I wouldn't classify it as a natural weapon.

However, I think non-profficiency penalties and improvised weapon penalties are the same thing... the SRC mentions that an improvised thrown weapon incurs a -4 penalty since a player is not profficient with using the weapon in that manner. The -4 sounds right.

My question... if the giant throws the orc hard enough, will it do splash damage to adjacent opponents?

Heh splash daamge.

What I'd probably allow is for the orc to target 2 adjacent targets sort of like a AoE attack. Since the orc is barely tall enough is thrown sideways to hit 2 squares I'd asses some kind of penalty to hit like maybe an additioanl -4. If somehting bigger was thrown, an ogre, a wagon then it would automatically target multiple squares so just the non-prof/improvised weapon penalty of -4.

Sarcasm. Which is also why I brought up the "ranged or melee?" thing.

Here's what I want to know. If my Half-Ogre Fighter rips off your arm and beats you with it, do I add my STR bonus or yours? What if the arm is still attached to you at the time? What if your arm is clutching a sword through some sort of rigor mortis?

Once upon a time back in AD&D, that Half-Ogre (named "Ug") was in a campaign where we were attacked by, among other things, a Hill Giant and thirty kobolds. After killing the giant, we threw its body onto the Kobolds, crushing a few of them. Should we have received the XP, or should the giant (assuming he gets resurrected)?

He will get both STR bonuses if he has the "Improved Disarm" feat. :D

If you want ranged weapons, you must of course defeet an enemy befoe. Then you enchant them to be feet of strength and throw them around :D

The giant, being dead and not having actively fought against the kobolds at all, probably shouldn't get xp for it.

Otherwise, some adventurers certainly would let themselves be petrified (or, better yet, turned into steel) and lent out as weapons. ;)

He meant that he was holding some pecans at the time, grandma.

Honest!

I guess that makes this thread a nutcracker, then.
