Orcs vs Goblinoids: Who's the top Evil Race?

Goblins are difficult to take seriously. They're small, they're cowardly, that sort of thing. By comparison, orcs have recently assumed the mantle of noble savages - they may be brutal, violent and nasty, but many people regard them as simply filling that role. (And in Tolkein, they're mutant elves. Which makes them somewhat cooler.)

So I say goblins are the evilest of the two, because orcs can be sympathetic.

Heh, I like Kobalds too. Just this Friday I was incinerating them 30 at a time with my wizard.

But seriously folks you have to go with either Bugbears or Hobgoblins. If you go by the numbers in their organisation listing in the MM Hobgoblins dominate by not only outnumbering the orcs 3 to 1 but also for being part of a lawful society and conceaveably a spartan esque military one at that.

And a Bugbear can practically take out an ogre. Which is just freaking amazing at that.

I too vote for Bugbear. The are underused as far as villians go. A powerful Bugbear who could unite all the goblinoids under his banner would be a threat to the entire world and make an Orc invasion look like boy scout jamboree.

IMC the bugbears are neutral and brachiate through the trees having taken on the persona of Apemen... and yep they are pretty cool just not overtly 'evil'

Actually I pretty much agree with Kahuna Burger - anything Insectoid is pretty creepy and evil to me. Love my Insectoid ogres (thanks Savage Species:P)
