Orcus in the Scarred Lands

So how are people using Orcus in the Scarred Lands? I myself, outside of Necromancer modules and it's various priests and other foul worshippers of the goat headed one, haven't used him at all yet.

Still, there are two cities of necromancers and if I include Manifest from Ghostwalk or the Secret College of Necromancy from Green Ronin, four and I'm curious how others have used the undead king.

I'm thinking more direct influence, perhaps through death knights or unholy warriors.

Problem I have with such tampering is that it's easy to unbalance a campaign with too much of a single theme if you get nuts with it. "Ah man, another priest of Ocrus? That does it, we're going ot the Abyss and kill that bastard ourselves."

That would be my cue... :)

As for me, I am actually using Orcus, albeit slightly indirectly. Talk to debhaal or Shawn about it. (They still think I hate them. ;) )
But mostly I keep Orcus mostly on the outside looking in. He's got enough juice to gain followers but realistically, he doesn't do much to enjoy popularity he would in other words. Why? Because if he did manage to gain some measure of power Vangal might decide to come down there and do a number on him. Or someone else that might not like Orcus treading on the affairs of the real gods. (Let's face, if 8 gods went against 12 greatly divine, nearly god-like beings capable of acts similar to some catalysms, what does one lone Demon Prince, even one close to godhood have against THAT?!) So Orcus plays it subtle, might use another name to keep his nose apparently clean. But otherwise I don't see him being that active. (Then again perhaps Otossel the Bone Maker IS just Orcus in disguise.)

I'm running a SL Game right now, and the evil God's & Titan's minions are MORE than enough to keep my players busy.

In this setting, the deposed Titans ARE the powerful demon princes & devil lords. Sure, they are technically "gone", but they have a LOT of influence on Scarn still!

:) Well that's one of doing it...course it would be nice if say Joseph Carriker would come along and drop hints about the SL Planar Guide...

Edge of Infinity (the planar expansion for SL)...*sigh* it makes 2004 look so far.

I have perused the idea of using Demon Princes and Archdevils for a long time and I came to the same conclusion as Nightfall. They ought to keep a low profile or they'll get their non-divine butts kicked.
