I always want to know what the characters are doing to fortify a camp or room at an Inn. If they mention nothing special then I assume nothing special is being done. Something may or may not happen to them that evening or in a particular situation, but if something does it helps me be better prepared and be a little more fair to them based on what actions they took.

Once those arrangements are stated I will then advance the timeline if nothing eventful happens.

Oh, it's a great strip. I like how they have metagame information, but they present it in-character as if it's supposed to make perfect sense.

My favorite strip might be with the chimera: "Wow, I didn't expect that first attack, but I really didn't expect the second!"

I found out about OotS when it was past 100 issues. I too had to read all of it in one sitting! Very funny stuff!

In more recent issues, I love Redcloak's honorary hobgoblin initiation.

Lich-phylactery: Is there any way to fast-track this?
Hobgoblin: Well, he could always slay the current Supreme Leader...
Redcloak (casts Slay Living): Done.
Lich-phylactery: Wait, we have to be sure. Hey, you over there! Was this your Supreme Leader?
Hobgoblin Supreme Leader: Yes. Yes it was.

:))

My favorite dialogue was:
"<You're> a bard, huh? My father taught me that bards were underpowered."
"Really? So what class are you?"
"I'm a multi-class fighter/rogue/sorcerer who specalizes in enchantment spells."
[beat]
"And that never struck you as needlessly complicated?"
:D

Count me in as an OOTS fan. We often refer to it at the gaming table. :)

I really like the 'I think I failed a spot check' and other meta-gaming-thinking. I also like the artwork.

I even wrote a software utility that downloads / downloaded the OOTS images to my harddisk, so now I have an 'offline' OOTS collection. I run the utility every week to keep my collection up to date
