Origins 2004

Here's the deal on the Epic level game: Those who want to play need to come to the Bastion booth (1046) and let me know. I'm thinking about Thursday night around 8:30 or 9pm but am flexible on that. Friday night is out because of the awards, Wednesday won't work because of the GAMA meeting along with another commitment I have. Saturday night might be a possibility along with potentially Sunday after the show. Does this mean we can play more than once? Probably, depending on who plays and so forth. But in order for this to happen, y'all have to communicate with me. I'll drawn up a selection of characters that will range from 20th to 45th level using a wide variety of rules and prestige classes. It should be fun. ;)

I will be making the 22 hour trip to Origins this year (the first major Con I have ever attended). I have a full schedule already (probably too full), but I will have to redo it on site as I plan to play mostly D&D Miniatures events and only one of those made the pre-registration system. :(

I think Assenpfeffer is right on track in regards to restaurants and nearby eateries around the convention center. My group tends to hit Damon's at least once during our trip, and its usually fine. Ribs, beer, and television trivia, for those who enjoy that kind of thing. The Big Bar on 2 is a typical hangout for my crew for those moments of downtime. And yeah, the Food Court is not bad for fast food meals in between games. I think the worst year we had there was when they were renovating the food court area and obtaining food was a chore.

North Market is one of my favorite spots to hit for lunch. It's a huge warehouse that is filled with grocers and vendors of all types. It's very easy to mix and match meals there from a strong variety of cuisines. It's listed as 0.15 miles from the center, easy walking distance.

I forgot to mention North Market. I like the Indian place in there, myself.

There's also The Elevator, which we may try this year - it's an upscale brewpub. The prices are pretty high, so we're still waffling on it, but I'd like to hit it for lunch if nothing else so we can sample the beer.

(Three of our group of four are homebrewers and fairly serious beer geeks, so we're trying to hit all the local micros while we're down there. Personally, I've only been to Barley's.)

Looks like I'm going to be there, last minute plans and all. Look forward to seeing y'all there. I have no schedule, so I'll just be picking up whatever looks interesting and isn't full. Might run a game or two if I find interested players.

I'll be there. It's just too good of a convention to miss. I have to say that even though it is small then GEN CON, I actually find it a better CON experience.

Definatly looking forward to it!

I like the con feel of Origins, sure it isn't a small con but it has a good layout. Gern Con is fun and all, but it seems a little overwelming and Orgins never is.

A not-so-subtle BUMP because I'm anxiously awaiting this convention now.

Plus, I'm trying to figure out the best way to meet up with some of the EN Worlders here. I'll be doing a three-day LARP during the nights, so I won't be able to play in the epic game, but I still may drop by for a few minutes. Crothian and I are in a game together, so that's taken care of. Hmm...

Which LARP? I did the Dark Ages LARP last year and had quite a lot of fun.
