Something neglected somewhat so far is matches with multiple fighter. I really liked the race idea as well and have been thinking of making a Ben Hur-like chariot race with four contenders. Haven't thought of the specifics though, and I would have problems participating in a fight with multiple fighters because of my time zone.

Other than that, I found that what kept YB1 alive wasn't the game mechanics as much as it was the roleplaying. The roleplaying hasn't yet taken off for real in YB2 yet, but I'm sure it'll come. I'm getting to know my fighters better as the fights have progressed and I'm beginning to define their characters.
