OSRIC v1.00 released.

Congrats! :)

However, did you have legal counsel go over your PI designation (particularly the part about "specific wording")?

Matt "Mythmere" Finch is a retired US attorney. I obtained the views of two other (practicing) attorneys before I released the first version to the public.

P&P, will there be a collectors edition of OSRIC in print? :) If so, do you have a cost for it yet?

There will be a collectors' edition eventually, yeah. I'm planning on two releases: A US English collectors' edition (restricted to 100 copies) and a UK English one (also restricted 100 copies).

I'm planning to charge massively, sumptuously, breathtakingly, eye-poppingly exorbitant prices for those in an attempt to cover some of my costs, so if you're on a budget, get the ordinary version. ;)

Any chance at finding the US edition at GenCon this year?

Good question!

I'm not planning to take a plane over to the US for GenCon myself, so I'm afraid for the Collectors' Edition, probably not. Sorry.

For the ordinary hardback or softcover, sure. All it would take is for someone who's going to GenCon to organise it.

You see, Lulu offer discounts for bulk purchases, which I'd pass on in full -- the non-collectors' editions are completely non-profit -- and obviously there would be savings on postage and packing costs as well. So if some kind soul were prepared to accept pre-orders from interested parties and grab a bunch of them prior to GenCon, you could all save a couple dollars a copy, and if there were fifty or a hundred orders, there'd probably be enough left over for a few beers to reward our hypothetical thirsty and hardworking organiser. ;)

Dang it. :(

As you might be able to guess, I'm pretty far from a coding genius. Let's fix that.
You might want to consider putting a content management system (like CMS Made Simple, which is free) into place. That would give you WYSIWYG editing.

OSRIC at Gen Con...hope they don't put the sucker too close to the WotC booth...there might be bloodshed :)

(kidding, of course)

I wonder if one of the OSRIC publishers already going to GenCon (hint hint) might take pre-orders. even a few display samples put out would be kinda cool (maybe a few Monster books as well). Also, an OSRIC banner (splitting a booth?), now that would be cool. ;)

P&P,

You know I'm going to want one of those limited editions :D ! Anyway, good to see the release. I'm back in Japan now, so it's back to work on the OSRIC Companion!
