The World Jumping rules for GURPS worked out the best for simulating walking through Shadow, as did the Snatcher advantage.

Had to make up custom systems for all the others, so I'd say the GURPS sessions we did were the most painless.

I have read an AD&D and a D&D3e edition, but never a GURPS one. Ever tried Amber DRPG?
 

I did, but my players didn't like the lack of structure.

Plus, since Amber is fantasy, but had guns and tanks and stuff too, GURPS just worked the easiest without tweaks.
